Everton have announced an update on Idrissa Gueye's future while confirming the departure of 12 other players in their official Premier League retained and released lists

Idrissa Gueye’s Everton future remains unresolved as the club have confirmed the departure of 12 other players.

The midfielder – who is part of Senegal’s World Cup squad – has made 236 appearances for the Blues over two spells but his 25 games this season were not enough for a one-year extension to the one-year deal he signed last summer to kick in.

Everton have released the following statement: “The club is continuing to liaise with representatives of Idrissa Gana Gueye over his future, with the midfielder’s existing deal expiring at the end of June.

“As confirmed ahead of the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, Seamus Coleman has called time on his playing career with Everton after more than 17 years on Merseyside. The popular defender and captain played 435 matches for the Blues, putting him 10th on the club’s all-time appearances list, and will now decide the next chapter of his career over the summer.

“In the Under-21s, Jacob Beaumont-Clark, Kingsford Boakye, Roman Dixon, Bradley Moonan, Francis Okoronkwo, Tyler Onyango and Reece Welch will leave Everton when their contracts expire at the end of this month.

“For the Under-18s, Demi Akarakiri, Melvin Matos and Rocco Lambert have been offered new contracts, while Goodness Gospel-Eze, Louis Poland, Charlie Stewart and Kean Wren will leave the club upon the expiry of their deals at the end of June. Everton will offer ongoing support to help all players moving on with the next stages of their careers.

“Everyone at Everton thanks the departing players for their commitment and service during their time with the club and wishes them all the best for the future.”
