Inter CEO Piero Ausilio admits there is âa big gapâ with Liverpoolâs valuation of Curtis Jones, while going cold on Oumar Solet and Eduardo Camavinga. âWe have to be realistic.â
The Nerazzurri chief was speaking at an event in Rimini this evening to mark the opening of the Serie A transfer market, so held several different interviews.

Inter struggling to get deals done
It is no secret that Inter are pursuing Liverpool midfielder Jones, but even though his contract only runs to June 2027, the price-tag is not dropping below âŹ40m.
âI never denied our interest in this player, we had also tried for him in January, but I must also be equally honest here and say heâs a player with characteristics weâd like, but at this moment there is a big gap between our valuation and that of Liverpool,â said Ausilio.
âSeeing as he is a Liverpool player, they have every right to ask what they want, but we too have the right to say if we accept or not. At this moment, I can say it is a very difficult operation to see through to the end.â
The proposal for Jones is around âŹ25m, a massive difference from the âŹ40m that Liverpool are asking for.
Meanwhile, the Inter chief warned that some of the other rumoured deals are also a very long way from completion, including the push for Udinese defender Solet.
âSolet, like many other players, can be an opportunity, but he is not the only one. Besides, I am by no means certain he can be the right one for us, letâs just calmly see what the transfer market brings, but we are in no rush and can begin pre-season with the squad we have.
âWe do intend to sign two new defenders, though.â
What Ausilio did confirm was that there was âabsolutely no interestâ in Roma midfielder NiccolĂČ Pisilli.
When asked about Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga, Ausilio let out a sigh of frustration.
âWe must be realistic, there are some players who can be taken into consideration, and others who cannot. We know Camavingaâs transfer value and his salary, so it is not feasible.â
