The unused substitute took a nasty fall following England's singalong with fans to Oasisâ Wonderwall and left the field on a stretcher.
Henderson was taken to a hospital in Mexico City, putting his participation in the rest of the tournament at risk.
It was later confirmed the former Liverpool captain would not return to Kansas City with the rest of the squad on Sunday evening as he continued to receive medical treatment.
Following his side's 3-2 thriller, England boss Thomas Tuchel said: âHe injured his wrist. He is at the moment at the hospital, so it is quite a serious injury.
âIt just doesnât fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. I donât know the procedure what is going on. I just did the press, and the doc told me heâs in hospital.â
The Brentford midfielder's World Cup campaign has so far been limited to a six-minute appearance at the end of the Three Lions' win over Panama during the group stage.
England's win over Mexico City will see them take on Norway in Miami in the quarter-final on Saturday at 10pm BST.
