The deal includes an option, rather than an obligation, for Liverpool to sign Araujo permanently at the end of the 2026/27 season. The purchase clause is worth around ÂŁ47million, according to Sky Sports.
Injuries have ravaged Liverpool's defensive ranks ahead of the new campaign and the signing of Araujo will provide some much-needed cover at the back. He is also capable of playing at right-back, which is another area in need of reinforcement.
