Born on 20 July 1993 in Meaux, in Seine-et-Marne (Ăle-de-France), Lucas Digne came through the ranks at Lille OSC, where he made his professional Ligue 1 debut at the age of just 18. His performances for the northern club earned him a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013. During his first two seasons in the capital, the left-back played 44 matches and provided five assists for the Rouge & Bleu. Notably, he won two French league titles, one Coupe de France, two Coupes de la Ligue and three TrophĂ©es des Champions.
On loan during the 2015â2016 season, Lucas Digne continued his development at the highest level in Europe by joining AS Roma, where he made 42 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. This successful season caught the attention of FC Barcelona and their manager Luis Enrique, then reigning European champions with the Catalan club. Having become one of Englandâs most influential defenders, the Meaux-born player continued his adventure across the Channel with Aston Villa from January 2022.
