14:30 Carry The Flag
We made it. The final day of Royal Ascot 2026 gets under way here with the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes for juveniles over 5f. CARRY THE FLAG is dropped in trip after being caught by the Coventry winner over 6f at the Curragh last time. He has three runs already under his belt and has a decent draw in stall 13, so he will take some beating for Aidan O’Brien.
15:05 Goliath
The Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes for older horses over 1m4f. GOLIATH was right back to his best in France last time and should go well. Christophe Soumillon is a master on this horse for Francis-Henri Graffard, and the pair teamed up to land the 2024 King George with Goliath. He comes into this on the back of a smooth success in a Group 2 at Chantilly last time, and while this is tougher, many of his rivals would prefer some juicier ground, including likely favourite Kalpana.
15:40 Satono Reve
Today’s big Group 1 is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over 6f. Joliestar would have been the selection from a high draw, but having been handed stall 18, SATONO REVE can make up for his second place last year by going one better for Japan under Ryan Moore. The nine-time winner is strong over this distance – he’s run well over 7f at Hanshin having started his career over 1m when winning on his three-year-old debut – and only found Lazzat too good this time last year.

16:20 Saber Strike
Now a Group 3 for 3yo in the Jersey Stakes over 7f. Into The Sky has a favourable draw, but I do wonder if he will be dropped in today. Contrastingly, SABER STRIKE does not have the draw William Haggas would like, but I’m keeping the faith from Stall 9, and hoping Tom Marquand can get him across towards the stands side.
William Haggas trains the son of Night of Thunder who cost 230,000gns and is unbeaten in two starts, including at Newmarket last time when smashing up Cerro Blanco. A slow start that day didn’t help either, and he could be a really good horse.
17:00 Double Rush
A big betting race in the Wokingham Handicap over 6f. DOUBLE RUSH may well be a Group horse in the making, and has hacked up in two races this term at Newmarket for Andrew Balding. He’s gone up from 90 to 105, so this is the ultimate test, but his chance has been made much bigger with Stall 24. Shane Foley gets on well with the horse, and he could well score again if there is nothing chucked in.
17:35 Spyce
Here’s another handicap in the Golden Gates for 3yo over 1m2f. SPYCE will be decent odds for Alan King, but was prominent at Newbury last time off 100, when fourth to Lost Boys. He was short of room at a crucial stage then but kept on nicely and after just five runs should have loads more to give. Rossa Ryan takes the mount from a tasty box in stall 2.
18:10 A Piece Of Heaven
Royal Ascot 2026 draws to a close with the Queen Alexandra Stakes marathon over an extended 2m5f. I’ll stick with Chester Cup hero A PIECE OF HEAVEN for Joseph O’Brien. A mark of 105 puts him right in the mix with the best of these, and he’s more proven than some of his rivals over this kind of trip. It’s the oddest race of the week when you look at the line-up, but I can’t believe he won’t be in the mix.
So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
