Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has been included in Michael Carrick's travelling squad to face AC Milan this afternoon
All you need to know about Marcus Rashford instruction ahead of Manchester United vs AC Milan
United take on AC Milan in their final pre-season fixture in Wroclaw, Poland, this afternoon. However, the match takes on extra significance after Ruben Amorim's appointment at the San Siro earlier this summer.
During an underwhelming tenure at Old Trafford, Amorim and Rashford had a major falling out that looked to have ended the 28-year-old's time at the club. Amorim banished Rashford from training after dropping him for the Manchester derby in December 2024.
The following January, Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season.
Upon his return, Rashford was placed in a 'Bomb Squad' and joined Barcelona on a season-long loan that summer. During the stint in Spain, Amorim was sacked by United and replaced by Michael Carrick.
Rashford was expected to join Barcelona permanently at the end of last season. However, Barca chose not to activate his ÂŁ26m buy clause and signed Anthony Gordon instead.
Following the World Cup, Rashford returned to United and was in Dublin this week. He did not feature against Leeds, but has since been chosen to travel for the clash against Milan.
MEN Sport has asked our United readers: 'Should Marcus Rashford play against AC Milan on Saturday?'
2,799 votes were cast, at the time of writing, with a whopping 84 per cent voting 'Yes'. Only 13 per cent voted 'No', while a further three per cent were 'Unsure'.
Rashford is joined in the travelling squad by Kobbie Mainoo, who also suffered a tough time under Amorim. Elsewhere, teenage sensation JJ Gabriel has been given another opportunity with the first-team. Read the full story here.
