Cardiff, who are second and odds on to return to the Championship at the first attempt, had the advantage of Good Friday off as Posh were going down 2-1 in a competitive fixture at Luton Town.

But Williams said: âItâs fair of me to say we were not outclassed at Luton. It was a very even game. We know Cardiff are much better and we know how brilliant they are, but we will back ourselves. We certainly wonât be playing without any fear.â

The first game as Posh manager for Williams was at home to Cardiff in the first round of the FA Cup in November when a Harry Leonard goal delivered a shock win.
âIt would be nice to get that result again,â Williams added. âBut I thought Cardiff were excellent that day. They play the game in a very attractive and exciting way. They have very talented players and a very talented coach. They are good to watch, but also very aggressive.
"We tend to play with good energy at home though and if we do that we will give them a very good game.â
