Arsenal Slam Door on Viktor Gyokeres Exit as Gunners Outline Future Plans

Premier League champions Arsenal have firmly shut the door on a summer exit for striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Despite a debated debut season in North London that sparked rumours of a move after just one year, the Gunners have no intention of letting the Swede leave.

A host of elite European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, were understood to be monitoring the forward’s situation.

However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the club’s stance on the frontman has remained completely unwavering.

Romano revealed: “The answer from Arsenal was always, ‘We want to keep the player, we believe in the player, and Viktor Gyokeres is part of our project.’ So, Arsenal were not opening the doors to an exit.”

Xhaka to Chelsea update

After several links throughout the week, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany has finally given some clarification on the Granit Xhaka situation.

He reports that Chelsea have reached a full verbal agreement over a transfer, with personal terms fully agreed.

Xabi Alonso is reportedly pushing hard to sign Xhaka.

More on Guimaraes Arsenal links

It was reported yesterday that Arsenal made a verbal offer worth ÂŁ55million to Newcastle for Bruno Guimaraes.

The Magpies swiftly rebuffed the offer and see Guimaraes as untouchable.

It was revealed by Sun Sport today that Newcastle are willing to offer him a new bumper ÂŁ40m contract to stay at the club.

Lacroix to Chelsea update

French international Maxence Lacroix, 26, has been widely reported as a transfer target for Chelsea recently.

Reports coming out of France today suggest Chelsea are expected to complete the signing of the Crystal Palace centre-back after the World Cup.

The fee is reportedly just under ÂŁ50million.

It could be the first sign of a change of strategy by the Chelsea board, who over the years, have focused on bringing in much younger players.

Perhaps this is Xabi Alonso’s dream at centre-back.

Amorim to sign fellow countryman in record deal

AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim is set to link up with Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos as his first signing at the San Siro.

According to The Athletic, it will be a club-record fee to bring the number nine to Milan from Paris.

He has never really been first at Paris Saint-Germain, and despite winning back-to-back Champions Leagues, it would make sense for the striker to seek a new challenge.

He reportedly has a good personal relationship with Amorim.

Ramos completed a medical while on World Cup duty with Portugal in Florida where he is preparing for his country’s final group-stage game against Colombia in Miami tonight.

Xabi Alonso looking for squad additions

Chelsea have reportedly made their opening move for Granit Xhaka, submitting a €30 million bid as they step up their pursuit of the Sunderland midfielder.

New head coach Xabi Alonso is understood to have personally pushed for the deal, prompting the Blues to make their first official offer.

Alonso and Xhaka previously enjoyed a successful spell together at Bayer Leverkusen, a relationship Chelsea hope will help bring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge.

Jarrod Bowen on the go

Everton have reportedly made an approach to West Ham United over a potential move for Jarrod Bowen.

David Moyes is keen on a reunion with the winger, but Aston Villa are also in the race, while Chelsea are keeping a close watch on the situation.

No formal offer has been submitted yet, with West Ham facing growing interest in one of their key players following relegation.

Done deal

Bayern Munich have secured the signing of Nathaniel Brown after the full-back made his preference for a move clear.

Arsenal and Manchester United both attempted late approaches to hijack the deal, but Brown had already set his sights on Bayern.

The Bundesliga champions are set to pay €55 million for the defender.

Man Utd are back in for Fernandes

Manchester United have re-entered the race for Mateus Fernandes.

Fresh contact has been made with the player in recent hours, with United prepared to improve their contract offer in an effort to persuade him.

The club are also planning direct talks with West Ham, while Tottenham remain in contention after stepping up their pursuit in recent days.

RB Leipzig ask for new price from Liverpool

RB Leipzig want ÂŁ112M for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, with Liverpool pushing to sign the 19-year old this summer.

After Liverpool’s first £100 million bid was rejected, they might not mind going for this asking price even though they said they won’t pay over £100 million.

However, surely they won’t let one of their most desired transfer targets be a miss for just £12 mil extra?!

Rashford may be in for a shock transfer!

Marcus Rashford was on loan at Barcelona last season and had an impressive campaign where he scored 14 goals and assisted 12 goals.

He fell in love with the city as he helped winning them win a la liga title and wanted to move there on a permanent deal.

However, according to i Paper, Tottenham Hotspur have begun internal discussions over a potential move for Marcus Rashford, with Roberto De Zerbi believed to be a strong admirer of the Manchester United forward.

Chelsea and United express interest in Sporting star

Manchester United and Chelsea remain keen on Sporting winger Maxi AraĂșjo and have continued to track the Uruguay international throughout the World Cup.

The 26-year-old has caught the attention of scouts with a string of impressive performances, despite Uruguay’s exit from the tournament.

Sporting, however, have no plans to sell unless a club is willing to activate his €80 million release clause.

Greenwood wants Roma move

Mason Greenwood is keen on a move to Roma and has made the Italian club his preferred destination ahead of Fenerbahçe and Al-Hilal. He is now waiting to see if Roma will make their next move.

Marseille are holding out for around €55 million, largely because Manchester United are entitled to 40% of any future transfer fee. Roma, meanwhile, are expected to submit an offer in the region of €45-50 million.

Fenerbahçe have already seen a €35 million bid turned down, despite offering Greenwood a lucrative contract worth €12 million per season.

Bruno Guimaraes latest

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a second bid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes after their first bid was rejected as they continue to strengthen their squad following their Premier League title triumph.

The Gunners are keen to add more quality and depth to their midfield ahead of the new season.

Palhinha future still unresolved

Joao Palhinha’s future remains uncertain as Sporting Lisbon struggle to agree terms with Bayern Munich.

The Portugal midfielder is expected to leave Germany this summer, but Bayern’s valuation is currently preventing a return to Lisbon.

Tottenham remain interested after Palhinha spent last season on loan in North London, and could yet enter the conversation for a permanent deal if negotiations continue to stall.

The 30-year-old is keen to play regularly again after a frustrating spell in Germany.

Dan and out

Dani Ceballos has left Real Madrid after NINE years at the club.

He posted: “After nine years, the time has come to close one of the most important chapters of my life.

“It hasn’t been an easy decision. Nor has it been an easy year, and perhaps that’s precisely why I felt the time had come to bring this chapter to a close and take on a new challenge with the same enthusiasm I had when I first arrived.

“I want to thank Real Madrid for giving me the opportunity to wear the greatest crest in the world and to learn from the best over so many years.

“I’ve been proud to defend this jersey, to grow as a soccer player and as a person, and to be part of a history full of successes that I’ll always remember

Ruben Amorim has received his first reinforcements since taking over as manager of AC Milan.

The former Manchester United boss landed his new role with the Italian giants earlier this month.

And he has already got his first signing over the line, breaking the bank for Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos.

The 25-year-old striker is currently acting as an understudy to Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup,

But that, and his record of 12 goals in 45 appearances last season (albeit mostly from the subs’ bench), has not stopped Milan from splashing big on the forward.

The club have committed a club record fee to the deal, with Fabrizio Romano reporting the fee to be as high as ÂŁ60million if certain add-ons are achieved.
