All eyes are on the World Cup at the moment but the transfer grind never stops for clubs throughout the Premier League and beyond. There was a big development yesterday as Manchester United missed out on the signing of West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who is now poised to join Tottenham. The north Londoners have agreed a club-record ÂŁ85m transfer fee with Bournemouth and personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

United have reportedly switched their focus to other targets, with Bournemouth playmaker Alex Scott believed to be among several options. Arsenal, meanwhile, have been linked with a blockbuster move for PSG winger Bradley Barcola should they fail to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

Brighton have finally agreed a deal with Tottenham to sign defender Luka Vuskovic, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It's claimed the Seagulls will pay a fixed fee of ÂŁ46m, with add-ons and a sell-on clause taking the overall package above the ÂŁ50m mark.

Manchester United will announce the signing of a talented young midfielder at some point this month.

Last year, the Red Devils reached an initial agreement with Fortaleza CEIF which stipulated that Cristian Orozco would complete his move during the summer window.

Orozco will turn 18 on July 13, the date when United can officially register him as a player.

The midfielder will touch down in Manchester ahead of that date in order to settle in and be prepared to begin on time.
