A WORLD CUP fan festival has been left almost deserted â after it was built in the middle of a crocodile swamp in Mexico.
Cancun Fut Fest was created especially for the World Cup this summer.

Advertised as a free fan festival with live match screenings, cultural performances, games and street food, it was set up at Malecon Tajamar next to the cityâs Nichupte Lagoon.
The conservation area in the tourist hotspot is home to thousands of wild crocodiles, many of which are up to 15ft long.
At least three of those have also previously attacked humans.
In order to reach the fan zone, supporters have to walk half-a-mile through a crocodile-infested mangrove.

Visitors have been advised by warning signs to avoid stepping off the main path due to the risk of meeting the reptiles.
The big screen is located on the shore of the lagoon where the crocodiles usually bask.
And to make matters worse, they usually show up at dusk â when the World Cup matches are shown.
Armed police have been patrolling the area in recent weeks.
